This trek requires good fitness and a head for heights. Camp 5 is a basic hostel by the river; bring your own food (we supply a provisions list).
Day-by-day itinerary
DAY 1Arrive in Mulu
Pick-up and evening Deer Cave bat exodus.
DAY 2Longboat & hike to Camp 5
Longboat to Kuala Berar, then a 9 km jungle walk to Camp 5 on the Melinau River.
DAY 3Pinnacles summit
A steep climb with ladders and ropes to the Pinnacles viewpoint, then descend to Camp 5.
DAY 4Return & departure
Walk and longboat back to park HQ, then airport transfer.
