River cruises run at dawn and dusk when wildlife is most active, with a guided night walk in between. Lodges are simple but comfortable, right on the riverbank.
Day-by-day itinerary
DAY 1Sandakan to Sukau
Pick-up in Sandakan and drive to Sukau. Afternoon cruise for proboscis monkeys and macaques.
DAY 2Dawn cruise & night walk
Early cruise into the tributaries, an afternoon at leisure, a sunset cruise and a guided night walk.
DAY 3Oxbow lake & return
Morning cruise to the oxbow lake, then transfer back to Sandakan or Sepilok.
